MCC HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY

Picture
Our High School Youth Group is supported by leaders who walk alongside teens as they deepen their relationship with Christ and one another. Kim Bruns and Nicole Homan lead the High School Girls Group, offering guidance, connection, and a welcoming environment for meaningful conversation and growth. The High School Boys Group is led by Luke Knapke and Scott Steineman, whose dedication and leadership help young men strengthen their faith and build lasting friendships within our community.

WELCOME TO HIGH SCHOOL MYM!

Be part of something new...
We are so glad you're here and can't wait to walk this faith journey with you.  Marion Youth Ministries is a dynamic, flexible, comprehensive, and growing
    ministry for high school teens.

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS FOR ARE FORMING NOW!
Are you a teen looking for more?  Are you looking for Belonging?  Fellowship?  Accountability?  Flexibility?  Depth?

Following Jesus' example in the Gospels, and in response to the desire/needs expressed by the teens of the Marion Catholic Community, Discipleship Groups (D-Groups) gather small groups of high school teens (about 5 to 8 teens per group) with an adult mentor or two to journey together in faith.  As a teen, this offers you all the above experiences and qualities.

Small groups have the flexibility on when and how often you meet, so it works with busy schedules.  Each group forms a small community where you can belong, where it's safe to be yourself, ask questions, share joys and successes, and participate in an apprenticeship in the Christian life.  This isn't just another program.

MORE YOUTH MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to the small group meetings, there will also be occasional gatherings of all the small groups together for Social Nights, Service Projects, etc.

Whether you participate in a Small Discipleship Group or not, all teens are encouraged to participate in various other ministry events, activities, and opportunities:
  • Retreats
  • Mission Trips
  • Youth Conferences
  • Social & spiritual events
  • Scouting
  • Any other way the Holy Spirit leads us - seriously, what has God placed on your heart.
HIGH SCHOOL NIGHTS
Aside from D-Groups, high school students are welcome to our high school nights once a month from 7 to 8:30pm in the youth room.  Each night will feature food, fellowship, a dynamic talk, and prayer!  All 9th-12th grade students are invited.  Bring a friend!

It takes a parish...here's how you can support youth ministry and teens:

                                       Mission Statement
The members of the Marion Catholic Community, given life through the Holy Spirit in Baptism, are called together as a community of faith to praise and worship God our Creator and to proclaim in word and deed the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

As members of the Body of Christ we strive to serve all to provide an atmosphere of hospitality which enables all to respond fully to the life-long challenge "to do right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
