anointing of the sick

Picture

The Sacrament

This sacrament reminds us that Jesus is with us to comfort us, to strengthen us, and to heal us. The Anointing of the Sick was once known as the sacrament of Extreme Unction, reserved for those who were close to death. The sacrament still contains the beautiful liturgy and rituals for those who are close to death, including a final Communion known as Viaticum.

Contact Us

Those parishioners weakened by age, afflicted by a serious illness or preparing for a serious operation should receive this sacrament. If you would like to be anointed, please call the parish office at 419-925-4775 to schedule.

Mass Offering

Christ Our Light Family of Parishes also offers an Anointing of the Sick Mass in the spring and again in the fall.

                                       Mission Statement
The members of the Marion Catholic Community, given life through the Holy Spirit in Baptism, are called together as a community of faith to praise and worship God our Creator and to proclaim in word and deed the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

As members of the Body of Christ we strive to serve all to provide an atmosphere of hospitality which enables all to respond fully to the life-long challenge "to do right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
